LOIRE VALLEY
Enjoy the romance of Kings and Queens on this “must see” tour during which you will discover:
Chambord Castle:
François I's masterpiece, the Château has no fewer than 440 rooms. The celebrated double spiral staircase accommodated the need of rival courtiers to avoid each other.
Chenonceau Castle:
The 16th-century chateau of Chenonceau is famous for its romantic site on the River Cher and for its spectacular architecture. The interior, with many original fireplaces and ceilings, is hung with tapestries and paintings, including works by Jordaens, Rubens, Del Sarto, and Correggio.
Amboise Castle:
The Royal Château of Amboise was built within the walls of a medieval stronghold on a spur above the Loire, although only about a quarter of the complex stands today. The Gothic chapel (Chapelle St-Hubert) supposedly contains the tomb of Leonardo da Vinci.
As well as many other castles to discover, a complete “Loire Valley Castles Tour†will allow you to see a much more…
Wine Tasting:
The Loire Valley is one of the most beautiful French wine regions: discover and taste famous Chinon, Pouilly Fumé, Sancerre, Bourgueil or Saumur. |
